Hello everyone!
My name is Adam Siembida, and obviously you've found my personal web page! I'm a December 2010 graduate from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, which is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. I hold a BS degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. On this website, I'll be posting a wide variety of content, ranging from topics engineering topics, computers, web, general technology, and possibly some personal items. I'm going to write lessons, tutorials, and reviews about things I find interesting or consider important.
From my personal experience as a student, there have been many times I wished that a professor had explained topics in more basic words or with more examples. It seems like sometimes professors will forget what it was like to be a student! This does not mean that rigorous definitions are unimportant (on the contrary, I think they are very important). However, I always find it more effective to learn the rigorous definitions and more advanced methods only after I have a firm grasp on the fundamentals and have worked some actual examples. A formula means nothing if you don't know how to use it, or don't even know what it is saying!
Some of my personal interests include playing the guitar or keyboard, sailing, windsurfing, fencing, rollerblading, playing tennis, snowboarding, singing (even although I am terrible at it), Photoshop, websites, video games, and messing around with electronics. My curiosity often gets the best of me and I end up taking things apart or trying to make them better. I love all things related to electrical engineering, and even unrelated science or other branches of engineering.
